1889
Foundation
Our olive oil factory was founded by Francisco Laur, a French immigrant from the region of Loire, in the south of France. He moved to Cruz de Piedra, Maipu, in the early 1880s.
1996
Technological Innovation
From 1996, a process of technological innovation was implemented. We incorporated modern machines to extract olive, which belong to the so-called continuous centrifugal extraction system.
2010
New owners
In 2010, the factory was bought by the Millan family.
2012
General manager and winemaker
Gabriel Guardia has been the general manager and winemaker at Laur from 2012.
2019
4th in the world
In 2019, Laur was named the 4th most important olive oil factory in the world and the 1st one in Argentina by the EVOO World Ranking.
2020
3rd in the world
In 2020, Olivícola Laur became the most important plant in Argentina and got one step closer to the first place in the world ranking.
2021
1st in the world ranking
In December 1st 2021, Laur became the number one society in the EVOO World Ranking. It meant a great accomplishment for the region and for South America because it was the first time that a plant outside of Europe became number one.
